Product overview

What Hume Band 2.0 is and what it measures

Hume Band 2.0 is a wrist-worn health tracker from Hume Health. Instead of a watch face, it uses a slim sensor module on a soft knit strap, designed to be worn 24 hours a day so it can collect readings during sleep, workouts and everyday life. The data is sent to the Hume app, where it is organized into scores and trends.

The sensor module combines five LEDs and four photodiodes. Hume uses these optical readings to report heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), blood oxygen (SpO2) and skin temperature. The manufacturer’s page also lists blood pressure insights, which are presented as trends over several days rather than as single spot readings.

Overnight, the band breaks sleep into light, deep, REM and awake periods. During the day it records steps, active zone minutes, distance, calories and movement patterns, and it estimates strain and recovery so you can see how hard you pushed and how well you bounced back.

In the app, these signals feed composite measures such as Metabolic Capacity, Metabolic Momentum, Biological Age, Pace of Aging and an overall Health Score. The core app is free. An optional Premium plan adds AI-powered coaching and deeper analysis, but the manufacturer’s FAQ states that no subscription is needed to use the band or see its raw data.

Practical details matter for a device worn all day: the battery lasts up to 14 days with typical use, the band is IP68-rated for showers and swimming, and the SuperKnit strap is built to be lightweight and breathable. The figures it shows are wellness information; any decision about a health concern should be discussed with a qualified medical professional.

How it works

From wrist sensors to daily scores

The band measures continuously in the background. Light from its LEDs reflects off the skin and is picked up by the photodiodes, a skin temperature sensor adds overnight context, and the app combines everything with your activity to show how sleep, recovery and fitness change over time.

Optical sensor array
Five LEDs and four photodiodes on the underside read your pulse signal to estimate heart rate, HRV and blood oxygen (SpO2).
Trends in the Hume app
Readings sync over Bluetooth Low Energy to the free app, which turns them into sleep, recovery and metabolic scores over days and weeks.

Getting started in three steps
